2011 "The Blend" Red Wine

Casablanca Valley Chile

"The Blend" is comprised of six different varietals: Carmenere and Syrah (30% each), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Malbec and Petite Verdot (10% each).  While the valley floor of the coastal mountain ranges surrounding the Casablanca Valley create a unique terroir reminiscent of Carneros and ideal for growing premium Chardonnay, the foothills are warmer, more akin to the more northern reaches of the Napa Valley, where the climate is better suited to varietals like Carmenere, the lost Bordeaux grape that has become Chile's citizen and the basis of Primus, the exotic Chilean blend.

Bright carmine red in color, this expressive and aromatic red blend explodes with notes of blackberry, strawberry and blueberry mixed with hints of cinnamon, cloves, pepper, rosemary and bay leaf along with flavors of plum and more strawberry with fresh acidity and round, well-integrated tannins that provide a long and satisfying finish.  14,.5% ABV  SWC
