Eric & Joel Durand

2012 Saint Joseph "Lautaret"

Northern Rhone Valley

Brothers Eric and Joel Durand took over the family estate in 1991, taking knowledge from previous generations and improving the quality of their wines year after year.  Their work is especially hard on the steep slopes of Saint Joseph (18 acres) and Cornas (12 acres), where they have to rebuild the terraces every year to maintain the earth on the soils.  With their experience and the finesse of their palates, the Durand brothers now rank among the most recognized producers on the Northern Rhone Valley and are international acclaimed by many writers.

This 2012 "Lautaret" Saint Joseph is a full-bodied and well textured 100% Syrah, inky purple in color, with aromas and flavors of ripe black raspberry, cassis, licorice and leather with lots of sweet tannins.  93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate; 92 points Wine Spectator. 13% ABV PYW
