2012 Marsannay RougeBurgundy France
Marsanny, the most northerly appellation in the Code d'Or, encompasses three villages near Dijon, the northern region center of Burgundy. The villages encompass some 12.72 square miles, of which about 560 acres are used to make wine, yielding about 100,000 cases of wine each year, mostly red. There are no Premier or Grand Cru terroirs in Marsannay.
The Chanson medium-bodied 100% Pinot Noir Marsannay, deep garnet in color, displays generous aromas and flavors of cranberry and blackberry with touches of dried rose petal, yet quite masculine with chewy tannins and a firm finish. Best now through 2021. 13% ABV TEG
