2012 Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon

Colchagua Valley Chile

The grapes that make up this wine come from the foot of the Andes Mountains in the Miraflores Vineyards within the Colchagua Valley, an appellation hardly known a decade ago but now one of the most celebrated wine-growing regions in Chile.  Miraflores boasts some of the area's oldest vines where fruit can mature slowly, thanks to varying temperatures between day and night.  The combination of deep rocky soils and a warm, dry climate cooled by mountain breezes makes it ideal for producing a refined example of Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas and flavors of cassis and cocoa with a hint of acidity to balance out its full body and weighty tannins.  This hearty Cab would pair well with slow-roasted beef, caramelized onion and barbecued lamb. 13.8% ABV CWC
