2013 ZinfandelRussian River Valley California
Limerick Lane Cellars is a family-owned 30-acre estate winery producing cool-climate old-vine Zinfandels, Syrahs and Rhone blends in the Russian River Valley. The estate was first planted to grapes in 1910 by the Del Fava family and sold to the Collins family in the mid 1970s who produced excellent grapes that were sold to such well-known wineries as De Loach, Chateau Souverain, Ravenswood, Davis Bynum and Gary Farrell. The present owners now strive to produce wines noted not only for their exceptional balance and elegance, but wines with an undeniable sense of history and place.
This opulent Zin, gutsy yet delicate, combines aromas of bright raspberry and rose petal with flavors of cherry, herbs de Provence, and cracked white pepper, finishing with nice acidity and lively tannins. Robert Parker, who gave this wine 92 points, called this gem "A classic Zinfanel, very pure, impressively crafted and should drink nicely for up to a decade." 92 points Wine Spectator (10/15). 14.6% ABV MON
