2013 Chardonnay

Lodi California

The Kautz Family was the first to plant Chardonnay in the Lodi region and, today, they grow Chardonnay in several of Lodi's sub-appellations as well as the Calaveras County growing region of the Sierra Foothills.  These different locations provide diverse soils and climate that, when combined, create a more complex wine than one region alone.  This well-priced Chardonnay exhibits refreshing aromas of fresh green apples, citrus and tropical fruit that are followed by layers of light citrus, soft vanilla and oak notes.  Good acidity gives it a crisp balance with a creamy medium-length finish.  Try this little gem with French onion soup, trout almandine and grilled scallops.  13.5% ABV  QUI
