2013 Cuvee Traditionelle Beaujolais Vielles Vignes

Beaujolais France

Domaine Vissoux Pierre-Marie Chermette is located in the Beaujolais sub-region of Burgundy.  The fruit source is 10 acres in St. Verand, situated on a patch of dark granite (within a limestone-rich area), a soil that partly accounts for the wine's "cru" level depth and minerality.  From vines ranging in age from 35 to 85 years old, this organic, unfiltered and naturally-fermented Beaujolais displays aromas of deep, dark fruit, with red and black currant and cherry fruit that lead to flavors of Black Forest cake and finishes with a tickle of acidity and a soft chewiness -- all at a truly remarkable price. 12% ABV FGW
