The fruit for this wine is grown in the famed Paragon Vineyard of the Edna Valley on the Central Coast of California, planted by winegrower pioneer Jack Niven in the early 1970s and more than 40 years of careful and diligent farming have proven that Edna Valley is truly a special place for growing Chardonnay grapes. This well-priced little beauty was fermented 65% in small French oak barrels and 35% in stainless steel tanks. It was then aged, 38% in new, fire-toasted French oak on a bed of lees for five month, with the lees being stirred during the first three months. The result is a full-bodied, crisp, clean and well-balanced Chardonnay that is loaded with citrusy tropical fruit and just the right touch of sweet oak. 13.5% ABV WWH
