2013 "Le Levraudiere" Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie

Loire Valey France

Run by Remi and Jean-Jacques Bonnet, the Bonnet-Huteau estate is based around the ruins of a chateau dating back to the middle ages, with some 105 of the 120 acres planted with Melon de Bourgogne, the Muscadet grape that is farmed organically and biodynamically.  Fermented with natural yeasts from the grapes, this Muscadet was aged on its lees for six months.  The result is a crisp, light-bodied, fresh, elegant and zesty wine with aromas and flavors of green fruit, fresh grapefruit and lemon zest, an ideal match when served with shellfish, crustaceans and fish dishes.  88 points Wine Enthusiast (6/1/2015).  12% ABV WEY
