The fruit for this rather stunning Malbec comes from 68-year-old self-rooted vines grown in alluvial sand and clay soil;s at an elevation of 3,000 feet in Valle de Uco, Mendoza.  Fermented in traditional cement tanks, stainless steel tanks and partially aged in new French oak by Ray Kaufman whose experience includes stints at Kenwood Vineyards and Bouchaine Vineyards before spending some 23 years as the co-winemaker at the famed Laurel Glen Vineyard atop Sonoma Mountain unmtil it was
