2013 Patelin de Tablas BlancPaso Robles California
Tablas Creek Vineyard is the product of a decades-long relationship between the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas, a long-time importer of quality wines. The families created a partnership in 1985 and four years later purchased a 120-acre property in the Las Tables district of west Paso Robles known for its similarities to Chateauneuf du Pape: limestone soils, a favorable climate and rugged terrain. In essence, the partners brought the best of the southern Rhone Valley to the Central Coast of California.
The Patelin de Tablas is an easy-to-approach white blend of Grenache Blanc (54%), Viognier (25%), Roussanne (13%) and Marsanne (8%) that offers fruity and floral aromas of honeysuckle, apricot and candied grapefruit with spicy mineral notes that are followed by flavors of peach and lemon zest along with a creamy texture and fresh vibrant acids. The finish is long, rich and clean with lingering flavors of peach and mineral. 91 points Wine Spectator; 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Center (8/14). 13.2% ABV RWC
