Alois Lageder

2013 Pinot Bianco Dolomiti

Alto Adige Italy

The eponymous Alois Lageder was founded over 150 years ago in Alto Adige, Italy's most northern wine-growing region.  Here, Alois Lageder grows grapes in steep Dolomite slopes with varied micro-climates that provide distinct vineyard sites -- ideal for producing a wide variety of wines.

Since the 1980s, the current fifth-generation Alois Lageder's innovative ideas and strategies (and pioneering practices such as "quality rather than quantity") have led the movement to improve Alto Adige's wine industry.  Alois Lageder plays a leading role in recognizing and developing Alto Adige's singe-vineyard wines.  His wine-making philosophy is founded on a holistic approach with the goal of making wines with authentic character while leaving the natural environment as intact as possible for future generations.  Alois Lageder wines are produced via sustainable, biodynamic and organic farming methods and express the many nuances of the region 's micro-climates and soils.   The fruit for this wine come from select vineyard sites in the southern part of the Alto Adige area and most northern part of the Trentino area at an altitude of 660-980 feet.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on the fine lees for three months, the result is a crisp, clean and elegant medium-bodied wine that displays aromas and flavors of apples, peaches and delicate flowers that lead to a mouth-watering finish.  12.5% ABV C&C
