2013 Poggio al Tesoro Solosole VermentinoBolgheri Italy
The name Solosole, meaning "just sunshine," derives from the fact that the wine is essentially a direct result of the work undertaken in the vineyards under the ripening sun. The grapes for this radiant Vermentino are harvested when their color changes to an intense yellow.
Fermented for 20 days (no malolactic fermentation) and aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks, this medium-bodied and succulent beauty expresses intense aromas and flavors of flowers and yellow fruit. The development of the wine within the glass suggests that it has the potential to evolve for a few years. Solosole is an ideal wine to serve as an aperitif and to accompany raw fish and, thanks to its tanginess and fragrance, fried and poached fish, and its crispness makes it a suitable match with vegetarian cuisine. 13% ABV WWH
