2015 Judge Ranch Sauvignon Blanc

Bennett Valley California

The Bennett Valley vineyard was so rock that Joe and Gail Judge were forced to remove 1000 tons of stone before creating adequate soil for vines; however, the result is a wine that Morgan Twain-Peterson considers his best effort since the original 2009 version from Kick Ranch.  This is what Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar) had to say about this Sauvignon Blanc: "Expressive scents and flavors of Meyer lemon, quince and pungent herbs, along with notes of ginger and chalky minerals.  Silky and expansive in the mouth, with a floral quality adding complexity.  Finishes focused and dry, with dusty citrus pith and mint nuances clinging.  Shows very good depth of flavor and chewy texture but comes off as elegant, like a good Chavignol."  14.1% ABV MON
