2012 Cotes-du-Rhone

Rhone Valley France

Situated on the right bank of the Rhone River, the Cachette vineyards are part of the 25 villages where the AOC "Cotes du Rhone" originated.  2012 was a challenging growing year due to the climate, but the southern Rhone Valley produced a limited and excellent quality of fruit.  The grapes for Cachette are sourced from a vineyard with soil comprised of gravel and pebbles high atop one f the sunny slopes surrounding the castle of Gicon, which dominates the Rhone Valley.  A blend of Grenache (70%) and 10% each of Carignan, Syrah and Cinsault produces a spicy, fresh and fruity wine dominated by aromas of almond, cherry and spices. 13.5% ABV QUI
