NV Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine

New Mexico

Gilbert Gruet, the founder of Gruet Winery, was born in Bethon, France, and at the age of 36 created a co-op in his home town.  In 1983, while traveling through the southwestern part of the United States, the Gruet family met a group of European winemakers who had successfully planted vineyards in Engle, near the town of Truth of Consequences, New Mexico, about 170 miles south of Albuquerque.  In 1984, Gilbert, whose Champagne house, Gruet et Fils, had produced fine Champagne in Bethon since 1952, made the decision to plant an experimental vineyard, exclusively planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.  Shortly thereafter, the Gruet family relocated to New Mexico to begin their American winemaking adventure.

Only 1000 cases of this creamy and elegant Blanc de Blancs were produced that explodes with abundant aromas and flavors of sweet apples, pears and citrus with pronounced accents of roasted almond and minerals, all of which leads to a long and satisfying finish with nice acidity.  12% ABV  MON
