Situated only miles from the coastal influences of the Pacific Ocean, Scharffenberger Cellars enjoys the deep soils and sunshine within the protected Anderson Valley. Founded by John Scharffenberger in 1981, this Brut Sparkling Wine is made in the traditional methode champenoise process, whereby the wines are individually bottle-fermented before being riddled and disgorged. The wine, comprised of about two-thirds Pinot Noir which provides aromas of red fruit (cherry and plum) and one-third Chardonnay that adds the tropical fruit expression of litchi nut and mango. It undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation that contributes a vanilla cream character that results in a round and full-bodied wine.
This is a delightfully racy sparkler that gives expression to aromas and flavors of golden apple and honey with hints of caramel and vanilla on the finish.
